Supplies:
Jasc Paint Shop Pro. I used PSP 9
but this should work equally well in other versions.
Jasc. Animation Shop 3.11
Tube of choice. I am using FTU art by Yonid
Sky or other scenery photograph of choice. I chose one from Stock Xchg
Font of Choice - I used Big Apple and Bavand
Outside Filters - none
Download supplies Here:
Download and place supplies in appropriate folders

Ok, Let's begin! :D
Open a new transparent image, 500 X 400
Copy and paste your photo as a new layer.
Adjust - Hue and Saturation - Colorize
H- 141 S - 134
Rename Layer - Photo
Add your tube as a new layer
Position to your liking
Effects - 3D Effects - Drop Shadow:
V & H : 2
Opacity: 75
Blur: 5.00
Color: Black
Rename Layer- Tube
Make photo Layer the active layer
Font - Big Apple size 22 Create as Vector
Foreground Null and Background: Black
Put your text or saying behind tube and
using Vector nodes stretch and move to suit
Layers- Promote to Raster Layer
Add same drop shadow as before
Font - Bavand size 16 Create as Vector
Foreground Null: Background:#ffae9a
(or medium to light color from tube)
Place your name on tag
Layers - Promote to Raster Layer
Add drop shadow as before
Layers - Merge - Merge Down
Rename Layer - Text
Resize your tag to the size you want
I chose to make mine 400 X 320
Add your Copyright info and tagger info
Make top layer active
Add new Raster Layer
Flood fill with #52a0c6
Or any medium color from your photo of choice
Effects - Texture Effects - Blinds:
Width: 22
Opacity: 50
color: White
Horizontal and Light from left/top both checked
Rename this layer- Blinds
Duplicate this layer 5 times
Move each blind layer up a little
to simulate the opening of the blinds
Each new layer should be open a bit more
than the last until the last one is barely showing at all
We are now ready to animate! :D
Make your bottom layer the active layer.
Close out all your duplicated blind layers
This leaves your Background , photo layer,
Tube Layer, text layer, copyright info
and orignal blinds layer.
Edit - copy merged
in Animation shop you will
Paste as a new Animation
Return to PSP. Close original Blinds Layer
and open first copy.
Edit - copy merged
Return to Ani Shop and paste after current frame
Repeat this step with remaining blinds layers,
closing off previous layer, opening next.
unil you have done them all
Then close off all blinds layers
Edit - Copy merged
Paste this after current frame
You should now have 7 frames
We are now going to reverse the process to simulate
the closing of the blinds
Start at the top of your copied blinds layers in PSP
Open each layer and copy merged
then paste after current frame in Ani Shop
Be sure to close off previous blinds layer
before opening next layer!
Work you way back to the first copied layer
You do not need to redo the original blinds layer
Now... we are almost done folks!!
In Animation Shop, you should have 12 Frames now
Now we need to adjust frame rates so the blinds
will open and close smoothly. Click Frame 1 to make it active
Animation - Frame Properties
Frame 1 : 50
Select Frame 2 to make it active and change frame rate
Continue adjusting frame rates :
Frames 2-6 and 8-12 : 20
Frame 7 - 100
View Animation to check that all is well.
Save your animation!!
